Search & Rescue

Accidents of all types can turn an enjoyable outing into a life-threatening ordeal. That’s when it’s nice to know that you have your very own highly-skilled rescue team at your service.

Duties

Beaver County Search & Rescue is a volunteer group of men and women who are on call twenty four hours a day to respond to anyone in need of assistance. We conduct mountain and desert search and rescue in all of Beaver County's varied terrain, including rock, snow and ice, swift-water, and subterranean.

Defining Search & Rescue

US Legal defines Search and Rescue as:

Search and rescue (SAR) is the search for by the use of aircraft, surface craft, submarines, specialized rescue teams and equipment and provision of aid to people who are in distress or imminent danger on land or at sea. The common field of SAR includes many specialty sub-fields founded upon terrain considerations. SAR includes mountain rescue, ground rescue including the use of search and rescue dogs, urban SAR in cities; combat SAR on the battle field and air-sea rescue over water.
